Capacity Building

3.5 Aging and Lifelong Supports

Strengthening long-term planning, housing and community supports for people aging with developmental disabilities and aging family caregivers.

What we plan to do

The Council will strengthen statewide capacity to meet the needs of older adults with developmental disabilities and aging family caregivers through long-term planning, housing, and services that support people and families across the lifespan.

Key activity

Strengthening Supports for Aging People with IDD and Aging Family Caregivers

What success looks like

People with developmental disabilities, families and aging family caregivers have better access to planning information and supports. More communities develop sustainable approaches to aging in place, and aging, developmental disability, health care, housing and community-support systems become better coordinated.
