3.4 Autonomy, Healthy Relationships and Personal Safety

Building community capacity to support personal choice, healthy relationships, sexual health, safety and bodily rights.

What we plan to do

The Council will build the capacity of communities and organizations to promote personal autonomy, sexual health, healthy relationships, and safety for people with developmental disabilities across the lifespan.

Key activity

Advancing Autonomy, Healthy Relationships, and Personal Safety

What success looks like

People with developmental disabilities have greater confidence making informed choices about relationships, sexual health, safety and daily life. Families and supporters better understand how to support autonomy while addressing safety concerns, and community organizations are better prepared to support rights, consent and personal safety.
